I’ve never really liked the term ‘anti-ageing’
Why should we be against ageing? In fact, it is a privilege to age and as with anything, each stage of life comes with its own highs and lows.
With the ever-rising popularity of ‘anti-ageing’ treatments, the general age of those seeking treatments is getting younger and younger. I feel, we should really think about the way these treatments are viewed and promoted.
We shouldn’t be afraid to age, nor be made to feel inadequate if our expression lines become more visible or our greys begin showing more.
As we get older, our lifestyle and the natural slowing of collagen production, can cause our skin to become duller and lose that glow we once may have had in our 20’s. Instead of trying to reverse these signs, I believe we can simply do things to help improve our skin and luminosity such that we may not look 20 again, but we can get that ‘glow’ and health back to our skin. This is where regenerative medical aesthetics comes in…
Biostimulatory skin treatments have been used in medical aesthetics since 2005 and prior to this, since the 1980’s, in official medicine for wound healing.
They have recently risen in popularity in the UK with the introduction of Polynucleotides.
So what are Polynucleotides? These are essentially a sequence of nucleotides, DNA or RNA, bound into a chain. Within aesthetic medicine, the polynucleotides come from highly purified salmon or trout DNA fragments. When injected very superficially into the skin, they can stimulate our own cells in the following ways:
Polynucleotides are a regenerative treatment NOT a skin booster or filler. This means it will not add volume nor have a lifting effect, but the result is natural tissue regeneration. This is great news for those looking for a more ‘natural’ enhancement.
They can be used as a stand-alone treatment or in conjunction with other treatments such as microneedling, chemical peels, fillers, radiofrequency, anti-wrinkle injections and skin boosters (such as Profhilo) to name a few.
Some common areas of concern that Polynucleotides can help with are:
I am a strong believer in regenerative treatments and a huge advocate for products that will improve your own cell function, thus overall skin health.

Ideally, one would need 3 sessions (3 weeks apart) and this would then be repeated in approximately 6 months. However, if budget/time is an issue, you still will notice an improvement after just treatment. Results are not seen immediately, so you need to be patient, but once the changes are visible, you will be amazed!
(Cost: £280 per session)
